What iGaming Ontario changed
Since April 2022 Ontario has operated its own regulated online market: operators register with iGaming Ontario, come under AGCO oversight, and follow provincial rules on advertising, bonuses and responsible gambling. Offshore brands that have not registered are not permitted to serve Ontario players, and most block the province outright.
What that means practically
An Ontario player on an unregistered offshore site has no provincial dispute channel - a complaint goes to the Curacao Gaming Control Board rather than to AGCO. That is the substantive difference, and it only becomes visible when something goes wrong with a withdrawal.
